We, the Bionic Barons, are proud to present our 2012 website. This year, we have added a forum that is open to team members, as well as the public. In the past, we received numerous questions about our website, scouting database, and summer robotics camps. As a result, we decided to create a forum to provide an easier way to communicate with the FIRST community.

The following are some of our website features:

Valid HTML and CSS Code
Our entire website is coded using HTML and CSS. We made it our goal for all of the webpages that we coded to comply with the W3C validation standard. We used the W3C Markup Validation Service and the W3C CSS Validation Service to validate our website. Since these validators cannot check an entire website all at once, we meticulously submitted each page, one at a time.

Handicap Accessible
Another one of our goals was to make our website handicap accessible. To make our website available to blind users, all of the pictures in our photo gallery have captions and all of our images have alternative text, both of which can be read by a screen reader. Additionally, to make our website fully usable to deaf users, all of our videos have descriptive text. Our website is validated as handicap accessible by the HiSoftware Cynthia Says Portal, and it complies with both the Section 508 standards and the WCAG Priority 1 guidelines.

Original Design Catered to Different Types of Audiences
Every year, we make it our goal for our website to attract all types of audiences. Since we are the Barons, we designed our website around a medieval theme. We believe that making our website interesting to view and navigate will invite new viewers and promote FIRST through its content. The entertaining, lighthearted theme that we created is meant to show young people that science, engineering, and technology can be fun and enjoyable. Communication and Support Tool
Not only do we use our website to recognize our sponsors and support the FIRST community through our Resources section, but we also use it as a way to present information to our members, parents, mentors, sponsors, and volunteers. Cross-Browser Compatible
Since reaching the largest audience possible is important to us, we took into consideration the large number of web browsers available when we designed our website. Our website is compatible with all major browsers such as Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, Google Chrome, and Opera, as well as many mobile devices.
