The Bionic Black Hawks Motto is Learn, Serve, Grow, and we all make an effort to live by these words every day. We use our motto in and out of robotics, trying to make an impact in our community.
Our Bionic Method is a formula we developed to provide a FIRST experience for everyone, consisting of three major keys: Our school partnership model, our "See it, Do it" mentality, and taking the lead in the formation of new FIRST teams.
Since the team’s inception in 2008, it has:
Competed at the State Championship every year — 15 appearances, 2 wins
Qualified for the World Championship in 14 of 15 seasons, including 2016 World Finalists
Earned 19 Blue Banners, the highest honors in FIRST
Produced 2 Dean’s List Award winners at Worlds, the top individual student achievement
Become the youngest team in the Top 40 for total awards earned (79 and counting)
Been inducted into the FIRST Hall of Fame — 1 of only 36 teams worldwide, across 100+ countries
We don’t just build robots — we build leaders, innovators, and a legacy.
Team 2834 was inducted into the FIRST Robotics Hall of Fame in 2018 after winning the Chairman’s (now Impact) Award at the FIRST World Championship in Detroit—the highest honor in FIRST Robotics. This award celebrates teams that create lasting change through leadership, outreach, and inspiration. Team 2834 earned it by mentoring 14 FLL teams and 8 FTC teams, contributing 1,000+ hours to growing STEM in our community and beyond.
As a Hall of Fame team, we proudly serve as ambassadors for FIRST—sharing our legacy, mentoring others, and inspiring the next generation of innovators.
